EMERGENCY RELIEF FOR VETERANS!Especially during this "Great Recession", there has never been a more desperate time to help our nation's veterans. Among all our programs, the VSO Grant Program works directly with social service agencies to provide emergency financial relief to veterans in danger of losing housing, utilities or other vital services.
The VSO grant program provides a set amount of financial aid to social centers and other non-profit veterans' service agencies each month, in each of the counties served by our various chapters. This money is only made possibly by generous contributions from people like you.
The VSO Grant Program also provides direct aid and support to other veterans organizations, including the VA Hospitals; it is this kind of cooperative effort that has earned the VSO the community support it now enjoys.
The VSO Twitter Feed will regularly display updates from the various chapters about the latest emergency interventions. These updates will demonstrate the help we provide, and the nature of the help will underscore the vital service that can only be possible with your support.
The Veterans Support Organization also provides assistance to veterans outside of the areas we directly serve. The veterans we help need not live in the same state as our chapter office to qualify for our help.
VSO is a 501(c)(3) organization. The amount of your contribution that is deductible for federal income tax purposes is limited to the excess of any money (and the value of any property other than money) contributed by you minus the fair market value of goods or services provided by VSO. Donations are 100% tax deductible if no goods or services were received from VSO as a result of your donation.
